Abstract

Management is defined as the activity of administering resources to achieve a specific goal. In this sense, there is no major difference between public and private management, except for the nature of the goals pursued. Both public and private managers manage similar physical, financial and human resources, which in one case belong to the State and in the other to the owners or shareholders of a company; in fact, many people move between these sectors throughout their working life.
