Abstract

In this work, reference is made to organizational commitment, which Meyer, Allen and Smith (1993) have defined as the psychological state that characterizes the relationship between a person and an organization, which has consequences regarding the decision to continue in the organization or leave her

Since organizational commitment is analyzed in its three dimensions: affective, continuity and normative commitment, in each of the dimensions, different situations of organizational commitment are analyzed. Affective commitment measures the degree of emotional involvement that the individual has with his or her organization. Normative commitment is the degree to which the individual feels obligated to belong to the organization, under a sense of correspondence. Finally, continuance commitment measures the degree to which the individual wishes to remain or not remain in the organization.

On the other hand, there is a variable with which organizational commitment is related: effort, when employees participate in organizations, feeling committed to giving their best effort and getting involved in such a way that they want to continue in them as long as their time is recognized. that they dedicate and the intensity with which they do it. However, when the employee notices that the effort he has dedicated to work is not recognized, his desire to stay tends to decrease.
