Abstract

The evidence of regional growth in Mexico 1900-2002 is examined and a prospective exercise is carried out until 2020 considering three scenarios: pessimistic, moderate and optimistic. To do this, convergence indicators and demographic projections are used that support the potential positive effect of the “demographic bonus”.
