Abstract

The research presented describes the process of induction into the family business of the daughters, which most often are excluded by the founder’s aspiration to be the firstborn who assumes the direction of the company. The research was conceived as a descriptive study with a qualitative approach of case study that analyzes the participation of girls who have begun to develop or are developing a career within the family firm. The results make clear that the daughters took the lead from the family business without being prepared and considered for this. The sequence thus becomes a long process of preparation and unplanned transition that affects the continuity and stability of the family business .
