Copyright policy

Vértice Universitario Magazine follows the recommendations issued by theInternational Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) in relation to authorship and contributions, which establishes that authorship is based on 4 criteria:

1. Significant contribution to the conception/design of the study, data collection, or data analysis/interpretation.
2. Contribution to the writing or revision of the manuscript.
3. Final approval of the manuscript for publication.
4. Responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of the research.

All those designated as authors must meet all four authorship criteria, and all those who meet all four criteria must be identified as authors. An author must be able to identify which co-authors are responsible for other specific parts of the work and must have confidence in the integrity of their co-authors' contributions. Those who do not meet the four criteria must be recognized in acknowledgments.

Once the work has been sent, it will not be possible to make changes to the order or number of authors, so all issues related to authorship must be agreed upon before sending the manuscript to the journal for the first time.

By submitting the manuscript, it is assumed that each and every author has had full access to all data in the study and takes full and public responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the data analysis. For this reason, Vértice Universitario Magazine declines any responsibility for possible conflicts arising from the authorship of the works published in it.

With the aim of reducing possible disputes due to conflict of authorship, authors interested in publishing in the journal are asked to describe the contribution of each of the authors based on the CRediT Taxonomy (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), which they ascribe to the recommendations of the ICMJE. Said taxonomy must be sent along with the application files and must be read and approved by all authors involved.
