China's economic growth: sources and prospects

China has become the economic miracle of the 20th century. In the global competition for markets, it is the biggest competitor of Mexico, a country that it has displaced as the main supplier of the United States of America. It is interesting to trace in the specialized literature the causes or sources of the spectacular Chinese growth and what prospective studies say about it. Therefore, in this article, recent information is summarized to put the Chinese process in historical perspective, perform a simple prospective exercise and examine its viability, alluding to the role of: economic reforms, structural change, the catching up effect and the demographic dividend, which experts point out as the main sources of current Chinese growth and which should also play a role in its future.
