Abstract

The concept of environmental security emerges precisely in the logical context of the consequences of events of the past two decades, where environmental damage with the deterioration of the atmosphere has made us think about market practices and has highlighted the consideration of risk. Risk not only for life, but also for institutions, culture and environmental degradation. The different approaches to environmental damage are directly related to economic, social and political flows. Thus, ambiguity in economic policies and the rapid adoption of technologies lead to environmental insecurity.

The intensification of international competition has stimulated environmental actions, establishing new rules of the game where future economic prosperity and quality of life become clearer if the cumulative effects of industrialization, population growth and ecological degradation are changed (Long, 1995).
