ECOLOGY, ENVIRONMENT AND PRODUCTION SYSTEMS
Keywords:
Ecology and production systemsAbstract
It is about articulating the areas of ecology, the environment and production systems or modes of production and consumption, and necessarily addressing natural systems, society and built systems in particular, in the context of the complexity of society, nature and their relationships; and therefore of sustainability; both in causal terms and in terms of aspirations. As for causal relationships, we must think in terms of chains, from direct causes to origins; while aspiring to a world with ecological stability and integrity, of its biogeochemical cycles and its biodiversity; with social equity and democracy, and with a fair distribution of wealth, knowledge and power, among others.
