Abstract

To improve competitiveness, SMEs must adapt their strategies and organizational structure to the dynamic environment of today’s economy. The company’s success will depend largely on its ability to acquire adequate resources and skills to achieve new competitive advantages (quality, technological capability, innovation, human capital, knowledge, etc..), With the continuing objective of growth and diversification. However, many companies are questioning whether these actions are really competitive implied an increase in investment, are adequately reflected in the levels of efficiency and profitability. All individuals who make up the human factor in a company are a large capital that cannot be neglected for a good manager; instead it should be watchful of how to encourage productivity to benefit all, especially to help them in their professional growth and personal. SMBs cannot squander its human factor, as it constitutes a valuable contribution to their growth and development, quite the contrary, they should provide all, the means required to be obtained from this capital that results favor, for which they need data and evidence on the effect of specific strategies and action in business performance. This article is intended, first, to know what are the main competitive factors and variables of management and organization of the SMEs to determine their development and success, and secondly, to test whether aspects such as the type of strategy, technological position, degree of innovation, quality, or the use of techniques of human capital management, leading to greater efficiency and profitability in the success of SME’s.
